Now let’s talk about the food served during the event. Thank you Ross & Marina Iloilo Oysters Seafood for giving us a taste of the best food Iloilo has to offer.

GPH HALO HALO
(c) Special Halo-halo

I’m not a huge fan of traditional halo-halo but this one is definitely an exception. It’s far from your ordinary halo-halo that Filipinos grew up with. What stands out the most is the flavored shaved ice used that completely changed the game. The ice isn’t crystallized compared to your usual halo-halo with spikes. It’s more of a very smooth strawberry flavored sorbet that will leave you wanting more. Ms Beth, the Marketing Manager of Marina said that they change the flavor of the shaved ice every now and then. So pay them a visit and order Halo-halo and let your taste buds surprise you.

The most memorable dish from that day was the Blue Marlin Steak and Baked Oysters. The fish was grilled to perfection with the perfect sprinkle of salt and roasted garlic which makes every bite more memorable than the last. While the baked oysters have an ample serving of cheesy goodness that will eternally satisfy all the cheese lovers in the world.

A unique dish they served was the Buko Caldo Specials: Buko Binakol Manok, Buko Molo, and Buko Batchoy. Definitely far from your traditional soup to warm up your bellies in this rainy season. The best part is that it’s only PhP 199.00 each!
