Good Friday

Currently at the beach in Lobo, batangas! Our private beach house is just the right spot for my family and I to relax and escape the craziness in MNL. With traditional living and all we devoured simple yet delectable dishes; and again no photos for today!

As part of tradition, no meat on Good Friday so for us Filipinos it is “Seafood Day”. I ate some sinigang na Lapu-lapu and Maya-maya while for dinner had some grilled Dory and Milk fish or bangus.

One of my favorite dishes from this town is called “Bulanglang”; which is basically pure vegetable soup. I don’t know why but it is quite impossible to remake this dish at home; it just doesn’t taste the same. This dish is best paired with fish or inihaw na baboy or manok.
